Dubai City Activities – Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day

Going sightseeing in Dubai will inevitably bring you to the famous Irish drinking hole nestled at the Aviation ClubThe Irish Village. With St. Paddy’s day nearing (March 17), this quaint pub is going all out with Irish fare cooked and served the traditional way. If you have missed hearing Bob Geldof play live (he plays today), there is an impressive line-up organized at the pub in anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day.

You could even go on a safari tour in Dubai of a different kind for St. Patrick’s Day. Start with lunch at

Dublin Arms and move on to lively dancing atWaxy O’ Connor’spub.

Few people might be able to make it for the feast mass on the actual day, as most feast masses are usually celebrated on the Saturday that follows the feast date. One World can organize for you an Irish outing that will start at the Parish Hall of St. Francis Church (Jebel Ali) with mass at 10.00 am on March 21, 2009. You could book aDubai car rental with us to get you there and thereafter to your hotel apartments in Dubai.
It might be too late to book tickets for the Dubai Irish Society’s St. Patrick’s Day Ball 2009, but you could instead listen to Pure Irish Craic, a live authentic Irish music band on March 17, 2009. They are playing at The Westin Hotel from 7.00 pm onwards.
Gaelic football, hurling, dancing, music and merrymaking are some of the things even the Irish in Dubai are passionate about. Let ourDubai tour company know if you would like to join them in the festivities.

Places to have Good Ole’ Junk Food while Sightseeing in Dubai

Dubai’s stronghold for American food the Hard Rock Café may not be closing down indefinitely after all, but it’s not really the only place you can go to get your fill of cheeseburgers and steaks.

Junk Food

Junk Food

Junk food or rather food on the go does not refer solely to American fare but can also include Arab delectables like shawarma as well in a region like the Middle East. For tourists from Western countries on acamel safari in Dubai, popular chains likeDunkin’ Donuts,Burger King and Pizza Hut are scattered all over Dubai.

When you are longing for a bit of Worcestershire sauce and a medium rare steak while on your Dubai City tours, you can be assured that forgoing fare like this will not happen in a city like Dubai. For a junk food fix that includes some alcohol though, you could visit trendy joints like St. Andrew’s English Pub at Rydges Plaza in Satwa and Bidi Bondi at the Palm Jumeirah.
Most 3-stars and 5-stars house a Western or continental eating jointat the very least, to cater to the residential foreign palate. When you are making your hotel booking in UAE, be sure to state your preference with the concierge or your travel agent.
Being a leading Dubai travel companyOne World can organize your Dubai tour packages to include affordable or even luxury hotels in Dubai that can cater to your gastronomical preferences.
If it interests you, we could even arrange a Dubai car rental for you to attend Taste of Dubai ’09, one of the Gulf’s leading food festivals.

Dubai City Activities to Attend – Art Dubai

People may insinuate that Dubai lacks indigenous artistic talent and that the city is entirely frigid when it

Arts in Dubai

Art in Dubai

comes to artistic attractions of any sort, but I would like to differ.

Whether the artist hails from Iran, Europe or Canada, the nationality matters not, as long as they are producing beauty in Dubai and seeking inspiration while living in this lovely city. A majority of Dubai is made up of expatriates anyway, who I might add lend their own freshness to the emirate’s cosmopolitan makeup.
Nearly all our traditional Dubai tour packages include a brilliant showcase of culture and art of some sort, most of it Arabic in style. Buildings, mosques, fabrics, souvenirs, sculptures, entertainment, islands, camel races, dhow cruises, every aspect of Dubai daily life is brimming with vitality and beauty.
This time when you are visiting Dubai for any kind of Dubai City tours, you could look up Art Dubai 09, an art festival organized with an aim to mesmerize the senses with various artistic interpretations. Take a short break from your Arabian adventure to attend this beautiful event and expand your cultural and aesthetic horizons.
More than 450 artists are expected to display their artwork at the expo, which commences from 18 March 18

and lasts until 21 March. Check out the schedule and let our Abu Dhabi tour company know if you would like to include this excursion on your trip.

One World can arrange for a Dubai car rental service to pick you up from your accommodation and ferry you to the event, which will be housed at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.

Unusual Hotel Rooms to Stay in: at the Dynamic Tower

The as yet location-unconfirmed, impossible, highly-unusual and very modern (in a Lego block way) Dynamic Tower project taken up byRotating Tower Dubai is undoubtedly the most ambitious building job to hit Dubai; not least because it is the first of its kind on the planet.
Predicted to near completion by 2010, the Dynamic Tower is poised to add to the real estate portfolio as well as to the growing list of über luxury hotels in Dubai
For one, an innovative engineering trick will have the views change every three hours throughout the day, for each floor as well as each unit. Depending on where the tower will be finally constructed (their brochure simply states ‘in the heart of Dubai’), this aspect deems it a fantastic option for a hotel booking in UAE that is nothing short of unusual.
However, the constantly changing views also make it a very high-price affair. In a city where people pay for views overlooking verdant gardens and vast spans of the ocean, a hotel suite commanding multi-views like the Dynamic Tower are definitely going to be on the pricey side
From the 80 floors that are to be constructed, floors 21 to 35 are proposed to be part of a luxury hotel plan. Unlike the floors with villas though, which also include dedicated parking space, the hotel spaces are as exclusive as they come.
So if you are ready to visit the UAE for some sightseeing in Dubai, then you might think of adding the Dynamic Tower to the list of unusual hotels to live in. Get in touch with Dadabhai Travels to know about similar hotels and how you can go about making a Dubai hotel booking in them.

Dubai Ranks Low in Worldwide Popularity Contest. Says Who?

The travel and tourism community is buzzing about the HSBC surveyon the ‘Friendliest Countries in the

HSBC Survey

HSBC Survey

World for Expats.’ I know many Dubai-ians are not pleased with the Emirate pegged lower on this list.

Commenting on a UAE Community blog post on the same issue Abu Dhabi blogger says:

“I love the social fabric of the UAE. It is a place where you walk into a hundred nationalities everyday. You see all kinds of people from those who stare at you as if you are from another planet to many who smile at you for no reason. I have never felt that I am not welcome here. YES there are instances of red tape in some government departments and some other issues, but to me the UAE has been a very friendly place. Every place has its issues, as does the UAE.”
Sentiments like these are, surprisingly echoed by many expatriates (many are avid commentators and bloggers on Dubai and UAE themselves!) and definitely make one think hard about the validity of the HSBC survey.
Our Abu Dhabi company keeps reiterating Dubai’s mass appeal and way of life, mainly because it is one of the best kinds you can come across in a region like the Middle East. Small wonder then that many tourists and visitors in transit to other places love sightseeing in Dubai or visiting for an Arabian adventure.
Dubai, if you make the effort to, can be a very friendly place and thanks to the government pushing many educational reforms, the language has far from become a barrier for interaction.
The next time you are looking for a hotel booking in UAE, remember all these points and consider Dubai.

Things that might Turn you off your Arabian Adventure but Should be Ignored

This is something really shocking and at Dadabhai Travels we wish that it were not true. But sadly, the Dubai Police are threatening to ‘commercially boycott’ employers in Dubai arbitrarily laying off nationals in the name of recession.

According to our Abu Dhabi travel company, there should not be any discrimination on part of anyone in hiring or sacking employees. Dubai and consequently even the tourism department is in equal need of expatriates as it needs nationals and it is only fair that both groups are given due consideration.

Additionally, doom-reporting tactics on how the recession is making many people leave everything- their properties, cars, credit cards, et al need to stop. In a nod to UAB, whatever happened to positive thinking everybody?
Yes, Dubai has been through upheavals, but currently the city-state boasts of an Emirati-Expat ratio of 2:8. A difference that should notbe taken lightly.
That being said, we would like to add that coming to the Emirate forsightseeing in Dubai could be a lovely experience. Yes, the going is tough for many people, but now is a good time to visit Dubai as theDubai tour packages and hotel booking in UAE are running at amazing discounts.
If you are an expatriate or foreign visitor, then unfamiliarity with the language or some traditional customs might be a hurdle when it comes to making a Dubai hotel booking. To make the best of thesightseeing in Dubai hire a consultant who can better understand your needs.
